From the Golden Globes to the Grammys, and looking ahead at the Oscars and the People’s Choice Awards. Get ready to dive into new trends and our favorite looks. Stick around till the end for our predictions of the best dressed at the Oscars this year.
Golden Globes Fashion Shines As Bright As The Awards
This year’s biggest trends were on display on the red carpet at the 2025b Golden Globes. From sequins, to pastels, structure, and metallics. Unlike the past few years when minimalism was in, we were happy to see jewelry was back in, with many stars sparkling in jewelry from Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Lorraine Schwartz, and more.
Some of our favorite looks came from winner Demi Moore, who stunned in an Armani Prive metallic gold gown with Cartier jewelry. Anya Taylor-Joy brought out archival Dior. The pale pink gown was paired with a pink shawl and a one-of-a-kind Tiffany Blue Book necklace. The stunning necklace had more than 64 carats of crystal opals.
Multiple stars showed up in black gowns, but they were nothing short of boring with the trending sequins and appliqués added. Keira Knightly’s Chanel gown’s sparkling top featured a sequin floral design feathers at the waits, and a bow to accent her waist. Sofía Vergara stunned in a black wrap gown, with horizontal sparkling fabric in black and off gray. Alexandra Daddario’s black gown with sparkling appliqués and white feather wrap around shoulder section was eye-catching. Even the men took to this trend. Daniel Craig walked the carpet in a velour Giorgio Armani black tux with a waistcoat.
Grammys Shine A Light On Fashion Trends
The Grammys are where the biggest stars in music come together, and they certainly brought their eye for fashion this year. From trends like castle core and pastels popping up across the carpet and during wardrobe changes, to performance looks that blew us out of the water. We’re digging in deep with the Grammys.
Starting off strong on the red carpet, Doechii rocked a tailored gray pinstriped off the shoulder dress with a tie and buttoned down white shirt. From the corporate siren esthetic to the trending color scheme, Doechii was hitting all the right marks on the carpet. Doechii wasn’t the only star rocking gray. Charli XCX was in a Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The corseted gray and ruffled gown paired with a knee-high black heel was part of Charli XCX’s transition from brat to rich girl vibes for her music and persona.
When it came to killer ensembles for performances, Sabrina Carpenter stunned in her old Hollywood expired looks. Her performance, which was a reference to Goldie Hawn, and look were like a mini serving of what the budding pop star has been serving up on her Short n’ Sweet tour, with a mix of old school fashion, glitter, and ultra-feminine pinup looks. Her performance outfit and red carpet backless gown with blue feathers signals the pop star’s transition to a new color scheme, which often connects to her music projects.
Some of our other favorite trends were pastels, as spotted on Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét, and Troye Sivan. We also loved the sequins spotted on Heidi Klum, Kacey Musgraves, Paris Hilton, and Shakira.
Who Will Shine at the 2025 People’s Choice Awards
While the stars tend to go classic for the Oscars, the People’s Choice Awards are where we will see the boldest and funnest fashion. Last year, we saw modern but bright looks. Stars had fun with large bows, feathers, sheer lace gowns, and extreme cut-outs. Considering we’ve already seen some sparkles and feathers, we can’t wait to see what stylists are able to find and pull from archives for the festivities.
The Oscars: Who’ll Win Best Dressed
Last year at the 2024 Oscars, celebrities were spotted in gowns from Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Schiaparelli, with some of our favorite outfits coming from Anya Taylor-Joy in a Dior Haute Couture dress, Margot Robbie in Versace, and Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton. This year, we’re excited for possible looks from Anya Taylor-Joy again, Zendaya, and Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Similar to the Grammy’s and Golden Globes, we expect to see pastels, sequins, and of course black gowns and suits.
