Personalized Fashion Advice: Why One Size Doesn’t Fit All

When it comes to fashion, styling advice is not a one size fits all situation. Not only does everyone have their own unique build, height, and body type, but people also have different style preferences and needs when it comes to their clothing. For those beginning a new career, starting college, or changing paths in life, fashion can play a big role in building confidence and defining your new adventure. Or perhaps you’re looking for some fashion advice to prepare you for an upcoming wedding, engagement, anniversary, birthday, or another important life event. The styling advice you require changes depending on so many variables, and that is why StyldLife connects you with experiences stylists who know how to style for every event, special occasion, and career change, along with styling that will enhance your natural features. You’ll leave sessions feeling confident and ready to take on the next chapter in your life.

Every Body Is Different

Styling advice works best when it’s specific for you, since everyone’s body is different. Whether you’re tall, petite, pear shaped, or recently lost or gained weight and your clothing just doesn’t fit right anymore, our stylists understand that advice needs to be specialized just for you.

Body Type Breakdown

Oval (Round): shoulders and hips are proportional, curvy midsection, torso wider than shoulders and hips, waist is not naturally defined

Hourglass (Curvy): curvy build, well-defined waist, bust and hip measurements are similar, fuller bust, hips, and thighs

Triangle (Pear): waist is wider than bust, full hips, narrow shoulders

Rectangle (Athletic): not curvy, shoulders and hips are similar size, straight waist, weight is fairly distributed throughout body

Heart (Apple or Inverted Triangle): well-proportioned, shoulders broader than hips, not as curvy hips, waistline is not well-defined

Have you ever bought something you saw on someone else, but were disappointed it doesn’t look as good on you as it does on someone else? This experience isn’t unique, we all go through this, since not every piece of clothing or trend will look good on every body type. Discovering your body can be a game changer when you’re seeking styling advice. The beauty of a one-on-one styling session is that the advice you’re getting will be tailored to not just your style, but your body type.

Style Is Personal

Our stylists understand your style is personal. We’ve broken down the importance of knowing your style before in our blogs, and our upcoming webinar with stylist Anna Lavo will dig into this topic.

Your style is your brand. It can be the first thing that tells people who you. From walking in a room or someone seeing a picture of you, the first thing they will see is your style. What clothes are you wearing and what does it say about you. Not only will your style be your first impression on someone, but it can also bring you confidence. People can tell when you feel confident in an outfit, whether you’re standing taller or walking into a new situation feeling comfortable and on top of the world. Having confidence in your appearance and how people perceive you will start you out on the right foot when changing careers, starting a new path, or beginning in college. Your style is more than just fashion, it can define you.

Every Occasion Is Special

At StyldLife, when we say every occasion is special, we mean it. Not only do our stylist give you advice for the big days, like weddings, new jobs, and first days of schools, but they also style you for every day in between. Many of us struggle with what to wear on a daily basis. We change outfits, search our closet for an elusive item we remember buying but haven’t seen in a while, or can’t decide on accessories and either end up with none or far too many.

Either way, everyday fashion can be just as hard as finding the perfect wedding dress, a graduation outfit, or a new wardrobe for a new career. This is why you need styling advice that is specific for you and not just general advice that might not fit what you need from your wardrobe. Perhaps you require a wardrobe that has lots of classic pieces you can mix and match? Or maybe you like every day to be a fashion show? Our stylists can get down to the nitty-gritty in a one-on-one session to find out what outfits you’d like to wear on a daily basis, what you want to incorporate, and how to build the wardrobe of your dreams.

For most of us, fashion isn’t a one size fits all dilemma. Struggling to find clothes that flatter our body types, fit our day-to-day fashion aspirations, and define our dream capsule wardrobe is a challenge many face. Don’t worry, our stylists understand this and know how to help you feel confident and empowered by the clothes you wear. Soon it won’t just be clothes, they’ll be part of your fashion identity. Start your fashion journey today and discover your style with one of our talented stylists.
