How to Find the Perfect Bag

Finding the perfect bag can be difficult. With so many options on the market, you have to narrow down what style, aesthetic, and type is perfect for you. Do you want a bag that’s perfect for every occasion? Do you want something for nights out? Or a bag that is practical for everyday use? Buying a bag can be an investment if you’re opting for a pricier or luxury option. Let's break down a few different types of bags before you go on your next shopping trip.

A Quick Guide to Bag Shopping

  1. What do you plan to use your bag for? Is it for a night out, for everyday use, for work, or school? Think about where you plan to go with it and what you’d like to fit in it. Some brand websites now have features that show you what can fit in a bag to give you a better sense of size.

  2. What color do you want? *Remember, if you’re thinking of an everyday bag or something practical, you might want a bag that is a neutral color, tan, black, or a dark shade of another color.

  3. What kind of strap would work best for you? You can choose from cross-body or shoulder straps.

  4. Select the right material. You can opt for cotton, leather, vegan leather, or naturally sourced materials.

  5. Do you want your bag to be an investment? If yes, opt for a brand that has lasting and growing value. Some brands that are investments are Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Loewe, Fendi, Saint Laurent, Chloé, Christian Dior, Prada, and Bottega Venetta. All bags from these brands won’t increase in value equally. It depends on the quality, number produced, and popularity.
