The Ins & Outs of Wedding Trends in 2025
Like all trends, wedding trends change with each year. Of course, when it comes to special occasion, we don’t want to rely on what is trending. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t interested in what is in or out when it comes to weddings. We’re taking a peak at what we predict will be in and out for wedding trends.
Ins
Long Textured Veils
Long, elaborate veils are here to stay. Not only do brides have an opportunity to bring some personality to their bridal look, but veils are also an opportunity to up the glamour through a traditional bridal fashion detail. From lace to appliques to the addition of pearls and other embellishments, long veils are going to keep having a moment.
A Mix of New & Old: Desert Edition
When it comes to desert, a mix of traditional and new options is becoming more popular. Rather than just one dessert, couples are opting for a simple but decadent cake along with an array of small deserts - think Venetian hour with small pastries, cookies, cake, and more.
Unique Food Options
Whether you want to give your guests a culinary adventure or a showcase of your favorite comfort foods, creative food options for weddings have been getting more and more popular. People aren’t just sticking to the classics when it comes to feeding their wedding guests, but are opting for food trucks, elevated take out, carving stations, multiple cuisines spread out amongst themed tables, and more!
Content Creators
While social media isn’t on everyone’s mind, some people want to make sure they have the perfect photos to share online. Whether they want perfectly framed footage and pictures that are the correct dimensions for their TikTok and Instagram feeds or the perfect content that is delivered 24 to 48 hours from their wedding for the couple to use for an online announcement of their marriage - hiring a content creator for your wedding is in right now. *Tip: these creators are sometimes hired in addition to a traditional photographer or videographer.
Outs
Farewell Brunch
More and more people are skipping out on the morning after brunch for their weddings. Whether it's because the happy couple wants to spend some time relaxing after their wedding or because people don’t want to potentially have to deal with brunch and a hangover the morning after celebrating, it makes sense to us why the farewell brunch is on its way out.
Formal Departures
The same as the farewell brunch, a lot of people are ditching the formalities that used to come with weddings. Instead, most couples are opting for a smooth transition to the after-party. More couples are having after-parties full of dancing, drinking, and celebrating after their traditional wedding celebration.
Inviting Everyone
Sometimes it's the budget and sometimes it’s just because you want to keep things intimate. Either way, inviting every distant family member or person in your parent’s friend group isn’t your ideal invite list for your wedding. At the end of the day, it’s not always practical and having a huge invite list can be stressful.
Matching Bridesmaids
Getting every bridesmaid into the same exact dress can be tricky, and that’s why not a lot of brides are doing that anymore. Bridesmaids are different sizes, styles, shapes, and heights. Putting every girl in your bridal party in the same exact dress is difficult and sometimes just impossible - plus, it can put your bridesmaids in difficult positions if they’re not comfortable with dress cut or fit. Instead of creating another stress, give your bridesmaids a color swatch and set of cuts to pick from or give them options to choose from.
Traditions You Don’t Like
At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want to do on your wedding day. If there is a trend you don’t like or isn’t meaningful to you, you don’t have to include it on your big day.
