Top Trends Going into Fall 2024

Trends come and go with every season, and we know how hard it can be to keep up with them all. Don’t stress, we’re compiling all the top trends going into this fall in one place for you! Whether you’re wondering about the trendiest accessories this fall or beauty tips, we’ve got them all!

This fall, patterns, and textures are going to be all anyone talks about.  This one isn’t too much of a surprise, since texture and patterns over silhouettes have been gaining more and more traction since the start of 2024. When it comes to silhouettes, simplicity is your friend. With the rise of capsule wardrobes, there’s more attention towards silhouettes that will never go out of style. Incorporating fun textures and patterns that you love is a great way to add personal style instead of trying to completely go along with trends.

Thrifting can be a great way to try out some new trends this fall.  You’re going to start seeing more high necklines, fur or faux fur coats, and throwbacks to 80s-inspired clothing.  One throwback trend we’re seeing the most is leopard prints, which are giving Sopranos vibes.

When it comes to fur and faux fur, thrifted old real fur is the most sustainable, since it doesn’t promote production of new fur pieces and doesn’t use microplastics that most faux furs use.

When it comes to accessories, we’re seeing similar trends to clothing, traditional items with a twist. A big trend with bags is purses with bracelet straps, think chunky and sparkling chains that give off the look of a bracelet but are just the strap of a simple purse.

As for shoes, it’s similar to the patterns and textiles we’re seeing with clothing. Prints on shoes and multi-colors are what we’re seeing with all styles of shoes. From animal prints to embellishments to plaid and so much more, it seems like the funkier, the better when it comes to shoes this fall.

It seems like the trends in beauty aren’t changing much this fall as we’re predicting we’ll see lots of dewy minimal makeup, bold eyeshadows, and dark lips. Less is still more this fall, and skin health is staying at the forefront of beauty trends. Products to support your skin’s barrier, reduce aging, and protect from environmental impacts like pollution and sun, and antioxidant products are staying popular this fall.

No more hiding skin texture! One trend we’re excited about is natural skin texture. Rather than trying to hide skin texture and breakouts, go for natural looks that focus on highlighting your beauty and bring you confidence without feeling like you need airbrushed face-tuned makeup looks. Low maintenance is in the cards this fall. We expect to see some dirty blondes and dark brown hues getting a fresh dye job and gloss to keep up with colors that typically require lots of maintenance. You’ll be seeing beachy brunettes and black hair. You can also expect to see grown-out bangs and shags that can be easily styled.

Not everyone is suited for a low-maintenance hairstyle, and if that’s you, then you might want to try out a bob or freshly cut bangs this fall. Curtain bangs, as seen on celebs like Sabrina Carpenter, have been in style for a while now.

Here are some colors we expect to see everywhere this fall.

Regardless of trends, make sure that even when you’re trying out new things, you still stay true to your personal style. A key to dressing great or trying out new hairstyles and makeup is staying true to who you are. Adapt new trends that interest you to your current style and make them your own! Check out the styling sessions we offer for makeup, fashion, and hair to discover new trends and create your unique style to highlight your features.
